These terms govern your use of the My Safeword mobile application and related services ("Safeword," "we," "us"). By using Safeword, you agree to these terms.
Safeword is an identity verification tool. It lets you and your contacts confirm each other's identity by comparing time-locked codes generated on your devices. Safeword is not a replacement for emergency services, law enforcement, or professional fraud prevention.
You sign in with your phone number via SMS verification. You are responsible for maintaining access to your phone number and device. If you lose access, you can re-enroll by signing in again, which generates a new key pair.

The Coach feature places practice calls to your phone number to help you build verification habits. By using Coach, you consent to receiving these calls. Coach calls are placed only to your own phone number at your explicit request.
Safeword is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. While we design Safeword to be reliable, we do not guarantee that verification will always be available or that all scam attempts will be prevented. You should not rely on Safeword as your sole means of identity verification in high-stakes situations.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Safeword and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including financial losses from fraud that Safeword did not prevent.
You can stop using Safeword at any time by signing out. We may suspend or terminate access to the service if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your registry entry may be removed.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Safeword after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated through the app or on our website.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States.
